From Mommy to Mom to Mother

I thought I'd share this... I got it in an email from my MIL... I just about cried... I'm in the 4 year old stage!!! Can I just keep her that size forever?

From Mommy To Mom To Mother

CAREFULLY READ THE LAST ONE IN ITALICS!!!

MOTHERS

Real Mothers don't eat quiche;
they don't have time to make it.

Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils are probably in the sandbox.

Real Mothers often have sticky floors, filthy ovens and happy kids.

Real Mothers know that dried play dough doesn't come out of carpets.

Real Mothers don't want to know what the vacuum just sucked up.

Real Mothers sometimes ask 'Why me?' and get their answer when a little voice says, 'Because I love you best.'

Real Mothers know that a child's growth is not measured by height or years or grade...It is marked by the progression of Mommy to Mom to Mother...

4 YEARS OF AGE - My Mommy can do anything!

8 YEARS OF AGE - My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!

12 YEARS OF AGE - My Mother doesn't really know quite everything.

14 YEARS OF AGE - Naturally, Mother doesn't know that, either.

16 YEARS OF AGE - Mother? She's hopelessly old fashioned.

18 YEARS OF AGE - That old woman? She's way out of date!

25 YEARS OF AGE - Well, she might know a little bit about it.

35 YEARS OF AGE - Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion.

45 YEARS OF AGE - Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?

65 YEARS OF AGE - Wish I could talk it over with Mom.

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!

I think I actually like them...

You know... I've posted blogs in the past about the in laws, but here in the past few months I've put the bullshit aside and really have gotten to know them... and I love em... they are truly part of my family now... and it's crazy that I'm saying this... I wouldn't trade my Mother in Law for the world, she is by far one of the most sweetest, real, loving, and caring person I know... My SIL Danielle has a lot of her characteristics and I've come to know her and consider her like my own sister... My step father in law is the funniest guy, I know that even though he's not always trying to be funny, and sometimes can come off rather abrupt, he means very well and he loves my MIL wholeheartedly and for that I'm thankful, they both deserve all the happiness in the world.

I have a beautiful niece named Claira who has the sweetest personality once you get to know her, and her baby brother has been blessed to come into such a fabulous family with such a wonderful big sister... I'm sure once he's born he'll have his own post all to himself! I can't wait to meet the newest addition to our family!

I have the most eccentric, loving, and uber fabulous Brother In Law, he gets me, and he gets my husband, there is never a dull moment when we're all together and I love him very much... I totally hope that one day in the near future his art takes off and he finds the love of his life, gets insanely rich and travels the world being his awesome and happy self!

All in all ion the lottery of In Laws I've realized I've hit the jackpot in some regard... there are a few of them I'd trade, but the few that are closest to me, I feel blessed to know and call them my family. I love you guys... but please remember this is my blog and my expressions... if you feel the need to discuss anything written on here you have my cell, home, and email... remember I love you all but these are my thoughts and expressions!

Weekend in Pictures...

I don't feel like typing much as it's 7:30 in the morning and Babe 1 has been up off and on through the night sick... I'm really tired but she seems to want to rest peacefully right now... I just pray Babe 2 doesn't get what she has... That would suck.

In good news I decided to get on a scale yesterday and I'm now down 50 pounds and I'm 4 pounds away from my target weight! I can't believe that I started out almost 200 pounds now I'm down to 145!!! Yay me!!!

Well, the princess beckons... so I'll be back later...

Happy Birthday My Sweet Boy!

Happy 1st Birthday to the little boy who's come along and changed my life. You came into the world so fragile but yet so strong, my fighter, and every month I've watched you grow and change into the curious, funny, bright, and totally adorable toddler you've become. With your big brown eyes and impish smile, I can already see that we'll have our hands full when it comes to the ladies...

I truly did not know what to expect, I worried that my heart would not be big enough for both you and babe 1. Little did I know that my heart would be big enough and overflow with love for you. With you I've found my inner adventurer, and I'm so glad that you my son came into our lives. You have kept me young and definitely kept me on my toes as you get into everything... lol
Your journey to 1 was tons of fun, but you're going to have a blast exploring your way to age 2. We'll be right there to witness this miracle and see the world through your eyes, I'm excited for this as you've surprised me many times during the course of this year, I'm forever thankful that you chose our family to be apart of...
Let's see... You have many likes and dislikes so I'll just go over the basics...
You like - Music, you dance any time any kind of music comes on... Your sister, actually you love your sister... Your face lights up every time she comes in the room and you guys can play for hours if I let you, you're always being silly together and it's adorable. You like balls and can play catch like a seasoned pro, you've been playing catch since about 6 months old... I think you may have a future in baseball my dear boy. Spending time with your dad and your pop pop is something you love to do, you guys go in the garage and spend hours out there... You're right by their side watching and learning... You really enjoy kisses and hugs from your Yaya, and she enjoys giving them.

You dislike slimy foods and being startled... You hate to be left alone to your own vices, but don't like to be carried around unless you're in your sling or Mei Tei. You really dislike being hungry and as soon as you are you make it known... Not to many dislikes on the list, but that's because you're a fabulous baby! :-D

For the most part you have a sweet and charming demeanor, and a natural southern gentlemen you are, for you share easily... more easily than most 1 year old's I've seen and I can tell you're going to have a big heart and lot of compassion.

My son, You mean the world to me, I love you so very much and I'm so excited to see what the next year will bring as you continue to grow up and change so much... Here's to a Awesome Journey to age 2!

Love,
Mom

Babe 2

Turns 1 in two days... Where.Has.The.Time.Gone.?!

I love fall!

Fall is such a fantastic time of year... The things I love about fall -

Leaves are turning
It's getting cooler out
Football season
The Ray's going to the World Series
Pumpkin Spice Latte's from Starbucks
Dressing up for Halloween
Decorating the house with pumpkins, oranges, and browns
Smores,
Gap and J. Crew sweaters
Target... wait, Target is good all year! Not just fall...
Visits to the Pumpkin Patch
Sipping Hot Apple Cider or Sweet Tea Vodka (never together ;-D )
Nights consisting of vegging out in front of the tv, with The Man watching all the new fall shows and eating sometimes homemade kettle corn. Yes... I can cook, sometimes... :-D

Trust me when I say this list is probably 20 million miles long and I'm adding things everyday... This year fall seems different to me... fresher maybe, the air is more crisp than normal, I feel more alive and aware than I've ever been, I feel more in love, more happier, more normal... More like um...

Me.

Migraine. and the Clumsy...

I have a migraine that just won't quit... I'm going to an UCC and hopefully they'll give me something good and strong that will allow for this thing to disappear...

The gorgeous fall air is calling my name, but I can't enjoy it because it's too damn bright outside... UGH!

I did however... despite my condition go outside with the babes for a walk on the beach, and we picked clams... and...

I fell in the water...

Yep, me, the migraine suffering patient fell slap down in the freezing ocean...

Was I happy not in the least... that shit was cold... but I was proud that I'd managed to save my hair and since I was wearing Babe 2, I saved him too... He didn't hit the water... :-)

That my friends was my saving grace. LOL

Take a walk with me...

These are pictures of Babe 1 and I on a morning walk along the shore... She really enjoys it here, as do I! The last picture is a clam that she stuffed with sand...

"Have some Mommy!" is what she said to me... I told her I'd pass, but maybe next time... She melts my heart, that girl...

I hope everyone's week is off to a great start!

Life's a Beach

The above pictures are of the heaven that I'm in now... I'm sitting here... after everything that's happened in the past few days and I'm like WOW... I'm really here and surprise... I LOVE CLAMS! lol

As I type to you dear friends, I'm sitting in the sunroom of my husband's rental property in VA Beach. How did I get here you ask? It was a long 13 hour drive from Florida with 2 small children, but I made it and I couldn't be happier.

Where are the dogs? Good question. I found them new homes because I was unable to continue to care for them. I'm genuinely sad about not being able to keep them, but also very happy because the homes they went to were awesome!

I drove myself and the babes to be with The Man for a few months. I'm happy about this decision as I've been here for a couple of days and I couldn't be happier... Life has been a serious blessing these few days and the memories we've created have been priceless. I thank God every day for allowing this to happen.

I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!

Love,
Me.
