Holiday Replay

Late yes, but when have I been one to post on time? LOL Here's what happened during the Big Family's Christmas weekend.

Thursday Christmas Eve:
I cook an amazing dinner consisting of Baked Apples, Pork Chops, Cous Cous, Salad, and the cutest holiday drinks ever... sadly, Mr. B forgot to charge the camera so I couldn't get a picture of said dinner. :-( Bummer.
After dinner, we headed to church for the evening service and had a great time listening to the music and the message of Christmas. We came home after the Mr. and our Pastor finally stopped talking about fantasy football (they were playing each other for the championship) and made cookies for Santa, set out milk, and reindeer food. The kids were in bed and asleep in record time. That was awesome. (Pictures of Christmas Eve now!)

I enjoyed every second of it!

Friday Christmas Day:

I was awaken around 2:30 AM by a little person who decided his own bed wasn't good enough and he wanted to "sleep in Mommy's Bed". The funny thing about that is he walked right past the tree and all the presents Santa had left. LOL! Baby boy would not be bothered with the Santa mess, he was tired and wanted to cuddle with mommy, who did not mind as we all slept in until around 8:30, even Lil Miss didn't get up until then! Thank you Santa! We got up, open presents, and then I cooked breakfast, chocolate chip pancakes, scrambled eggs w/ cheese, and bacon. :-)

Christmas Night:
After spending the day playing with our new toys, napping, eating, and spending time together, we finally got ready to head over to the Mother in Law's home to spend time with my sister in law's and their families. We had a fabulous time and the kids loved seeing their cousins. A few highlights from that...

Needless to say, Christmas was a blast. The following two days after Christmas were spent with my father in law and his wife at their home in SW Florida. It was nice and relaxing down there, we kept it pretty low key by ordering in, going out on the boat and exchanging small but very memorable gifts. We took tons of pictures but I'll save them for another post!

Goodnight,
Mrs. Big

The Day After Christmas...

and we are finally all tired, stuffed, and hanging out. The Mr. and I  watching basketball with care, in hopes that Bud Light would soon be there. A shot of Jameson, and maybe a cup full of Diet Coke and Jack, and then I will settle down for a long winter nap. Tomorrow will come and it will be so much fun, because off to Cape Coral we'll be on a run. Down to the Father-in-Law's home we will go, for some BBQ, Boating, and thankfully no snow! :-)

I hope you all have a fabulous Sunday!

Dear Santa...

All I want for Christmas is the writers block to be gone and for me to be able to finish this last paper before 2:00 AM EST. That is all I'm asking for. Seriously.

From Your Biggest Fan,
Mrs. Big

P.S. I promise to make super yummy cookies for you to eat while you are dropping off the rest of the presents. Okay! Deal?! Great!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Everywhere in the Big household. We have the tree and crafts that the kids have done up, we have lights outside, we've gotten most of our shopping done, and we have a little elf in our house causing mischief during the night while we are sleeping.

I love said little elf, as he sits watching over the home during the day to make sure the kids are being good, so Santa will bring them presents on Christmas. He has stopped some choice behavior right in it's tracks by the mention of his name. I sometimes wonder if I can keep him out all year? LOL

What else is going on in this holiday season? I am actively job searching. I know... not the best time to be looking, but I really want to be working and soon. I have been on interviews, which was shocking, and I have a company that I really, really, really want to work for. I've been on three interviews and I'm now in the waiting game. Please pray that this job search ends fairly quickly. Thanks!

School has been going well. I'm totally ready to be out of a particular class and on to the next, but we'll see what I can gain out of the class I'm in. I'm trying to stay open-minded... It's the least I can do.

I'm going to fully enjoy this Christmas, I have a stellar menu planned for Christmas Eve dinner, since Christmas will be spent with the MIL, maybe... I am not sure about said event yet. I have my reasons. I haven't blogged about yet, God knows I want to, but it's just not the time right now. I'm still pretty angry about it...  Although I'm sure it'll come up one of these days...

Wow, this post was all kinds of random. I guess that's what you get when you're up doing homework, drinking coffee, when you're tired as all heck. So... um, I guess goodnight. LOL

Happy 5th Birthday Baby Girl!

Wow, the years have really flown by... I cannot believe that my daughter is 5 years old. I still remember the day that she was delivered into this world, I still remember the doctors telling me not to expect to hear her cry. I remember seeing her tiny little body and how small she was. I remember waiting almost three weeks until I could hold her for the first time. I remember her very first smile, and what first made her angry. I remember everything about my baby girl, leading up to this big day, and today will be a day that I will never forget. I hang on to every moment, every memory, every second spent with her, because she wasn't supposed to be here. She fought and lived. I will always remember that.

Year 4

and now she's FIVE!!!

Dear Baby Girl,

Four sure was a wild ride! We had so much fun and I can hardly wait to see what you discover new this year. You're growing up so fast and it seems as if I blink I miss something cool or important you've done. I wish I could stop time and keep you this size forever, but instead, I'll just cherish every moment we are together, I'll be there laugh with you and when you are hurting I'll be there to console you. You're such a sweet girl with a big heart, you're creative and your smile is amazing, life with you is the best and I am truly blessed to be able to call you my daughter and to be a part of your life. I love you more than you know!

Mom

The Best Swap Gift EVER!

So, I recently participated in my first ever swap of any kind and I was so thrilled when I received a box on my door. Inside this little white rectangular box was the cutest apron I'd ever laid my eyes on! Why you ask, was this the cutest apron? I'll show you why!!!

See... I told you! Thank you so very much Nicole for this wonderful gift! It's been such a blessing getting to know you and I just wanted to tell you that, whenever you're ready for a visit to Sunny Florida, you have somewhere to go! It was very nice to have "met" you!

I really enjoyed being a part of this swap and I hope to possibly host one myself one of these days!!! Have a great Wednesday!

Love,
Mrs. Big

PS. This apron came from The Palm Gifts and I suggest you stop in over there and take a look at the cute items they have to offer! :-)

What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up?

Yep. That question, you know it well. It's the one you're asked when you are in elementary school and you give the best answer you can. In elementary school I would have said, "I want to be a singer". Now, when faced with the same question I have no idea how to answer. I want to be everything and do everything. I can't narrow it down to one thing. Strange right?

I am writing a research paper for a class I am taking and I am really struggling with this. I have to decide on a major eventually. I wanted to be a teacher, then I changed my mind. I wanted to be a journalist, then I changed my mind. Why can't I just pick something and stick with it?! It's really frustrating...

I'm sure that after a bit more soul searching, I will be able to chose the path that is right for me, but for now I'm content with my current titles of wife and mommy. I like the ring of those. :-)

What have you been contemplating lately?

Tomorrow is Friday! Hooray!!

Bad Eyebrow... Bad.

Dear Eyebrow Threader at Brow Art,

Hi, remember me. I'm the chick who came in and made a nice comment about your ugly hair. Remember? I had two super-cute children with me... Nah, I'm sure you don't remember because you were too busy &&$^#*^$! up my eyebrow. Maybe, just maybe I should have asked how long you'd been in your current position and asked for a resume. I guess that was My Bad!

Anyway, this letter is to inform you that I am severely upset about my right eyebrow. I know you can do good eyebrows, my left one looks great, but I think you may have had a short seizure while working on my right one and I want you to follow these instructions of mine very carefully, so we don't have this problem again.

1. Go to the doctor immediately and make sure you are okay...
2. Retake whatever class you too to be able to thread eyebrows
3. Practice... A LOT because like the saying goes "Practice makes Perfect"
4. Don't thread professionally again until you do steps 1 thru 3

Thank you for reading this letter and I hope we can move past this incident, and that you never do this to anyone else ever, ever, again, and especially to those of us who have family pictures coming up on Sunday.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Big

PS.
I would show you all pictures, because I did take some just for this post, but I'm a bit embarrassed.

It's Already December?!

Wow, has this year flown by or what?! Keeping my word from my last post I am going to post something positive today. These two mini people are my world. I didn't know that I could love so hard and so deeply until I had them. Everyday that I spend with them is truly a blessing and a privilege.  Every time I look at this picture I laugh because it's so typical them. They are so full of laughter and have fun no matter where we are or what we are doing. This picture is also pre-hair cut for baby boy. I miss all that hair but I love his new look as well. So there you have it... My positive driving force for today are my children. :-)

Have a wonderful December 1st everyone,
M.B.~
