This is what happened to me say at about 12:30 this morning...
The Mr. and I were finally in bed, enjoying some adult time when we here this shuffling noise. I get scared as the dog starts barking, because at this moment I swear our home is being broken into. So, we're laying there debating on getting up or just letting whoever is breaking in take whatever they want, as it will mean less for me to pack (kidding), when we hear a loud OUCH... So we both jump up and run out to find our baby boy had been going through the junk drawer and discovered none other than Gorilla Crazy Glue... What it was in there for is beyond me, but he had found it and had glue all over the place. The boy had glued both his hands to his favorite blanket and his stuffed toy monkey that he takes everywhere.
This is where fear met panic and hysteria. I wanted to cry, laugh, scream, and pass out all at the same time. My baby was so upset and scared. :-( This is where the Mr. get's kudo's. As I'm panicing, he's online finding out what to do. He hops into action, going and grabbing my nail polish remover, then soaking both hands in a bowl full of it. He worked Baby Boy's hands around in the liquid and slowly but surely they begin to come off the blanket and the monkey, relief sets in.
When I'm finally able to breath after all is said and done, and the baby is back in bed, I start laughing. Mr is looking at me like I just grew another head, then he starts laughing. Once we've calmed down, I look at him and say, no one warned us about these kind of nights, I wonder why? He looks at me and answers, "because they didn't want to spoil all the joys of parenthood for us". I agreed and back to bed we went.
Here's to enjoying parenthood in all its good, bad, and crazy moments.
