He's that guy...

See this guy? His name is Jameson and yes he is adorable. But you can't trust this guy. No Sir. Not him. You've got to keep your eye on this guy; he's a sneaky one.
Case in point; I made some cookies. Yes, I did. Delicious cookies and guess what this guy did. Ate them; that's what he did. Each and every one. EACH AND EVERY ONE. Gone.

I could have sworn when I found him this was the face he was making....

Sort of like he was laughing, yeah. So, what can I do with this guy? I can be mad at him for about 5 minutes and then when it's all said and done we cuddle and he forgives me for yelling at him. I semi-forgive him for eating my cookies and life between this guy and I go on.

I love this guy to pieces.

PS. My giveaway's start tomorrow! Hooray!

Shhhhh!

Guess who has a secret... well, kind of sorta a secret. I'm going to spill it, so don't tell anyone. Mr. Sergeant and I have agreed on something and it's really exciting... So hopefully in the coming months I'll have something super exciting to announce, but until then it's a big ole secret from everyone else... well kind of sort of. :-P

PS. I'm going to announce my first giveaway of April later on... Be on the lookout. Yep... A month full of giveaway's and surprises. :-) Hooray Spring! Good Night!

Two Posts in One Day?! I'm on a roll and a giveaway...

Hi. I'm back. I wanted to say how much I am loving my new blog design! Thanks Indie Chick for being so awesome and hooking this up. If you need a blog design her button is on the left, she's a dream to work with and well I can't praise her enough! My blog isn't complete as of yet; but it's still fabulous right?!

I forgot to remind you that I'm hosting a month of giveaways and if you want to be apart of that send me an email to Mrs.Sergeant@live.com... Seriously, we love giveaways around these parts and the first one kicks off tomorrow!

Now, on to a current giveaway being hosted by a lovely blogger friend of mine named Cool Gal at It's The World I Know

In honor of Spring finally springing, she is giving away some fabulous cleaning products from Mrs. Meyer and a Lily-esque Gloveable.

See?! Adorable. Now get yourselves over to her blog, say hi, and sign up for this giveaway!  :-)

I blog and I kid.. I kid and I blog...

When I tell people I blog they say, "Really?! You don't look like a blogger." Um... Are you KIDDING ME?! I then ask well... What does a blogger look like? To which I always get this sound.... Ummmm and then a "I don't really know".

I never in a million years thought that bloggers would be stereotyped by looks. Do you have to look like a huge dork hovering over your laptop 24 hours a day typing away to be labeled a blogger? I didn't think so; although, now that I think about it, I may just be that huge dork typing away at my laptop all the time, not quite 24 hours though. I kid...

Anyway, this sort of thing bothered me... you know, the reaction when I speak about my blog; which isn't often, I don't know why... I just don't mention it.  What is funny though is that I sometimes find myself blogging aloud. Have you ever done that? Talk about awkward. Who knows, maybe I'm the only one. LOL

I'm wondering... Would it bother you if friends find out you blog and say you aren't the type? I'm still trying to figure out what the blogging type is. I know all kinds of bloggers; black, yellow, red, white, a few purple ones, and a bunch of rainbow types. I know people blog about all kinds of things from being a mommy, a wife, a husband, a widow, a recovering drug addict, a machanic, and just life in general. Heck, I'm sure if I searched I could find a blog about peas, but I digress...

I guess I'm just a bit protective of my little piece of the web. This is where I can say what I want, when I want, and how I want. This is where all of me comes out and I share my triumphs as well as my frustrations. So, I guess I can see how I get a little overly sensitive when it comes to being critized for not being up to the blogger status quo, but no one is... And that my friends, is what makes blogging so amazing.

Off my soapbox now...

Getting to Know You Sunday...

Saw this on a fabulous blog that I follow and thought I'd join along. I hope you play too! It's a gloomy day here in LA and I'm catching up on my blog reading. :-) Okay, so here goes.

1 - Why did you start blogging?

You know... I really didn't start blogging for a specific reason. I knew that a few people in an online group I was apart of had started and I was curious. Now that I am blogging more I'm beginning to see that I blog to get out things that are in my head. I have so much in there that if I don't write it down or tell someone I feel as if it will explode and that would be no fun. I started blogging as a thing to do and now it is my place. Where I can put down whatever I want and share life with people who I've never met, yet somehow feel as if they are a part of my family. I am so glad I started blogging either way.

2 - Who's the one blog friend that you would want to meet most in "real life"?
OMG... I have so freaking many... there isn't just one. Actually, if they are my blog friend then I most certainly want to meet them!

3 - Why are you always concerned with losing that "extra 10 pounds" when chances are your husband/boyfriend/friends tell you that you look just fine the way you are?

For me it's about me feeling good about myself. I don't care who you are there is always room for improvement and the betterment of yourself... That doesn't necessarily mean go and lose 10 pounds; however; I do mean constantly check and make sure you are being the best you. PS. The Husb/BF/Friends are supposed to say that... it is in their contract. LOL

4 - What's the one thing you wish guys could understand about you?

For me, while I was dating I wished that guys could understand my randomness. I am a very random person. One minute I may want to hang out on the couch the next I may want to go out and have a beer. I was very different back in my dating stage... I've sort of out-grown that phase, but sometimes I do enjoy being spontaneous.

5 - Tattoos. How many do you have and how many are visible when you wear your "everyday" clothes?

I have 7 tattoos and only the one on my wrist is visible during everyday clothes, but once I become a rockstar I'll be able to show off the rest. Ha...

6 - What was the best year of your life and why?

So far this year has been the best year of my life. I'm finally at a place where I know who I am, what I stand for and what I do, where I want to be and who I want to become. It's amazing and I think that by finally know all those things I can now be the wife and mom that I always knew I could be.

7 - Name three things you would do if you were a man for one day.
Eew none, I am perfectly happy being a girl. LOL

8 - What's your alcoholic drink of choice that usually raises a few eyebrows?
Jameson on the rocks and Irish Car Bombs... Definitely raise eyebrows when I order those... everytime. lol

Well, that was fun! I hope to be reading some get to know you from you guys as well! :-) Don't be shy!

Blog Post

I have one of those in me somewhere. I know I do. I'm just tired. This morning was spent working on a song, then getting Lil Miss ready for soccer, going to soccer, yelling entirely too much, and coming home to the the best vegetarian fried rice this side of the Red River. Ha!

Lil Miss had a blast today, she scored 2 goals, and her footwork was pretty crazy. The girl is good, but she's my girl so what can I say?!

With the random thoughts coming out of my head right now I'm surprised you're still reading. Kudos to you if you are...

I'm looking forward to movie night out with the family later, we'll see how that goes. Praying that Babe Boy cooperates. :-) Have a great weekend. I hope I didn't bore you to tears. The next post will be awesome.

I PROMISE.

Stomach Bug Part Deux and some random thoughts

I have the stomach bug again. :-/ No one else does; which I'm very glad for. However, my kids have watched two movies, played a couple of games and are now hounding me to figure out something else for them to do... I came up with the silent game, they've been playing that brilliantly. I just fired up their computers for them to play on PBS kids for a little bit before lunch and naps. I've also been strategically putting them in rooms I will not occupy whilst spraying more Lysol than I probably should... I seriously don't want my babies to get sick. This bug will kick your arse and they don't need to go through that.

Lately I've been writing a lot of music and that's been fun. I've gotten projects from my old producer and DJ friends that are keeping me busy. I just keep thinking of how cool it would be to hear my lyrics on the radio. For me it would be amazing, and then to one day here my voice on the radio would be awesome too. So, I'm just keeping it positive and having faith that my musical endeavors will produce something great. Just a random thought but I wanted to put it out there.

Well, off I go to try and make lunch for the babes and try to feel better. Wish me luck!

xoxo,
Mrs. Sergeant

PS. I'm loving all the new followers and comments. Keep 'em coming! :-)

The Ancient Art of Karaoke...

So, last night... FUN! First, I met with an amazing producer and I'm very excited to be working with him! After said meeting I went and joined some friends at a casino and sang a lil Karaoke. Which was fine in itself; but I guess I could have done without the Irish Car Bombs and shots of Jameson. What? Don't judge... Mama never gets any time out alone. LOL

Anyway, today I am paying for it and it sucks. A LOT. It's been a movie/art/go play outside day for the kids. We've got soccer practice later and I'm not sure if I'm going to make it. :-/ I haven't felt this bad since spring break '01...

Okay, well that's enough of my randomness... back to watching HGTV and vegging out on the couch...

Under Construction... with a month of giveaways?!

That's right peoples... This blog is officially under construction and I'm so excited about it. I had found out about several different blog designers and ended up going with this lady right here.

I'm thrilled to be working with her, as she's done some pretty cool blogs and is a lovely lady from just chatting with her. So look out for those changes and stop by and say hello; I'm almost certain she loves visitors as much as I do! :-)

So, since this blog is getting an overhaul an all that jazz, how about I make April a giveaway month, so if you want to be a giveaway sponsor just shoot me an email and I'll be more than happy to hook that up for you!
 ;-)

The weather here is fantastic, a far cry from the mess that was yesterday.  We've got sunshine! Woohoo! Okay, I guess that's all. Hope everyone else is having a fantastic Monday!

Well the weather outside is frightful?

Yep, here in the great state of Louisiana some quirky things are going on with the weather. While last week was absolutely beautiful; the beginning of this week starts with snow. Yep, you read right! It is freezing outside and snowing. It's days like this that make me long for the warm and sunny weather of south FL.

We're only here until June. I keep telling myself that. It is very tough though. One part of me loves my friends here and the neighborhood where we are, and how close my family has become because we aren't so busy; but the other part of me longs for white sand, the cool breeze off of the gulf, and sunshine as well as being near the family. I can't say that I had a ton of close friends in Tampa, but the ones that I do have I miss them as well.

Okay, so I got off track there, let's get back to this weather. The first time it snowed was fun. We had a good time, the kids got to play, and all that jazz, we took pictures and have the memories. This snow is just annoying now. Seriously. It's freezing outside. I need to go to the grocery store and I am refusing because this Florida girl can not be outside in that mess. Maybe I can get the Mr. to go for me, he's from Maryland and used to this crap. Is that a good enough excuse? LOL

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful and warm Sunday!

Why am I awake?!

Want to hear something funny? Three hours ago I was knocked out. I mean like a baby sleeping, only to be awaken by what sounds like Mr. S talking on the phone... I just knew I was dreaming because Mr. S hates talking on the phone, but alas, it was him on the phone having a good old time hamming it up with his brother.

So, I wasn't too angry; although now I'm kind of mad because he's lying here on the couch snoring and I'm wide awake.

I get to sleep in this mornng, so I guess he should be getting his sleep. LOL

Have a good one,
Mrs. Sergeant

Friday Morning...

It's Friday morning and I am seething right now. I probably shouldn't be writing a blog in this state, but if I can't be real on here where can I?

Right now I'm P.O.'d at Mr. Sergeant. He can be a real jerk sometimes and it drives me nuts. We are arguing over the stupidest thing, and I know eventually I'll get over it but for right now I'm mad, I'm not going to pretend that everything is perfect. I will cry, I will be angry, and I'm not going to be strong, bigger, than this and let it roll off my back. I am upset and that is okay. Next Friday will be better. Today, notsomuch.

But whatever I guess.

I hope your Friday has started off better than mine.

The Third Child Debate...

Good Morning BF's! I'm typing this from the comforts of my bed and it's delightful. Just thought I'd share that little tidbit. Anyway, on to the post.

The third child debate. My husband and I... Well, I am considering a third child. My husband is well, being a husband and kind of, sort of, maybe considering a third. I think we should go for it. I yearn so badly for another child. I just feel like our little family would be complete... and I'd have no more babies after that.

One of his reasonings is that he is too old. Um. the man is going to be 32 this year. He thinks the dynamics of our family will change too much and he can't see Mini-Sergeant (my sons new nickname) being a middle child. Babies cost, we'd have to get a new car and it would be harder to PCS with 3 children. :-(

While I respect his thoughts, I do think that most of them can be dealt with, except, well, his age. Haha!

I'm at a loss here guys. I need to hear from people who have 3 kids! How do you do it? What happened after the third; how did you decide to have a third. Do you honestly think it was a good decision? Please, Please help! Even if you don't have three I'd still like your input! Thanks.

Meatless Monday and an Awesome Giveaway!

We just had our first Meatless Monday and it was great. I will say however that since it is so late and the kids had to go to bed I wasn't very creative this go round. Next Monday will be 100 times better.

For dinner we had Roasted Garlic and Olive Oil Cous Cous, Southwest Corn, and Spinch Salad with Strawberries, Mandarin Oranges, and Raspberry Vinegarette. It was delish! Everyone cleaned their plate and had seconds, and thirds. :-D Which made for a very happy Mrs. Sergeant.

I suggest that you try Meatless Monday. It's only one day a week and it's really cool to challenge yourself and plan a meal using all veggies and some pastas. I had a great time with it in the short time I had to plan my dinner.

Now, on to the fun part; a giveaway!!! Yay! This fabulous lady that I follow is having a giveaway for a monogrammed wipes case. I love monograms and you should too so go check out her blog and sign up at the link below!

Magnolias, Marriage, and Manhattan Giveaway!

Okay, I'm off for a trip to Tar-Jay with one of my best girls! :-) Have a good night yall!

Poop, Poots, and Burps... Oh My!

The Sergeant house has been ill this weekend. Completely. It started Thursday, and didn't end until this morning. After 3 days of pooping (gross I know), pooting, and burping, we all woke up fine this morning! Hallelujah!

We had the worst G.I. bug that any of us have ever had, and it included at least 1 trip to the ER. :-( My poor baby boy wouldn't eat or drink anything. I was so sad for him and wished like crazy that he nor his sister didn't get it, but they both did. Lil Miss got it the least worst. Thank God!

Anywho, we're all better. My house is less smellier and we can go on with life without Imodium AD and Gas X. Good news is I think I lost about 4 pounds, ha-ha and I didn't eat one Oreo while I was sick. Heck, I didn't eat anything.

Today we are keeping it pretty low key. I made the kids some lunch and now they are down for some much needed naps. I think we may go see a movie later, I definitely want to hit up a nursery or two as Lil Miss wants to start planting fruits and veggies to help our home planet as she so affectionately calls it, and do a bit of grocery shopping.

I have my menu for the week ready and it's going to be awesome. I'm introducing Meatless Monday to the family, and I think I may post them here. Maybe. Well, I guess that's about it in my world. I have a bit of studying to do tonight. I am trying to get a jumpstart on all the reading I have to do in World Civ II. Ugh, just writing that sucked :-/ but that's a whole 'nother blog post.

I hope that all of you have a fabulous and relaxing Sunday and I'll see ya tomorrow. :-)

A Happy Saturday...

This girl is happy. I'm happy to be free from the desk where I have been blogging for the past 8 months. This girl is on her couch, watching Up In The Air and hanging out with her husband, while blogging on her brand new, very cheap and practical laptop.
It's not top of the line or anything, it's plain, no webcam or fancy doodads, but I'm very excited about it. It's going to be used for school, blogging, and well, facebook, twitter, email... You know, the neccessities. :-)

Anyway, I don't know why I wrote a blog about this. I guess I'm just excited! I'm happy to not be tied down no more. LOL, that was funny to type.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and look forward to more random posts from me.

xoxo,
A Happy Mrs. Sergeant

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

Hi I'm Mrs. Sergeant and I'm an emotional eater.

Yep, that's right. I eat emotionally. All the time I eat. When I am happy, when I am sad, when I am bored, angry, stressed, anytime. I'm eating.

Since being on Operation Healthy Wife, I've taken stock in when I eat and what I eat. I can tell you that I'm addicted to Oreos. I eat them the most. I am not a fan of squash, and I love broccoli. Pasta and bread are among some of the things that enter my mouth often and so is Diet Dr. Pepper. LOVE that stuff.

So why am I putting this out here? Well, to pretty much admit defeat. I am addicted to food and I needed to put this in words right here, right now. I have started to eat healthier; now only to stop eating so much... :-/

I can't under any circumstances quit Oreos though. I don't care how good Skinny Cow truffle bars are, I have to have my cookies, but I digress.

What other randomness do I have up my sleeve? Oh, I know. I coached my first and last soccer game last Saturday. My daughter was stellar, she even scored the only goal. I however, was not as fortunate. While I did keep my composure and maintained a positive attitude. I completely felt as if I had let down my team. We didn't practice nearly as much as I wanted because it was freezing here; then we get matched against a mini-Manchester United a really great team.

Long and short of it, I just wasn't prepared. Oh and to top it all off, while I was trying to coach my team during the game, one of the dad's was yelling from the sideline and telling his kid what to do; which in turn confused everyone else. Said dad had already told me he didn't know anything about soccer, never played and/or watched the freaking sport. I was beyond pissed. It was completely rude and while I already wanted the earth to open and swallow me whole at that moment, his sideline shenanigans did nothing to help the situation. So. I resigned.

Mr. Sergeant is now the new coach. He should have been coach all along. He apologized to me and felt really bad that he didn't step up sooner. I forgave him of course... and told him that he'd be an amazing coach and that I would be the best "Soccer Mom" EVER. I'm in charge of snacks and I'm good with that. :-)

Babe girl started gymnastics last week, she loved it. I loved it. We all had a great time and her coach is really cool. Like, if you weren't coaching my daughter we'd have to hang out and become best friends cool. So, we are happy with everything and look forward to seeing if gymnastics pans out for her.

Whew, hows that for a blog post. All different kinds of things typed into a box. Like that? Good, cause that's how I roll. Ha-ha!

Mrs. Sergeant

Tired.

Have you ever been so tired that all you want to do is sleep for what seems like days? That has been me today. I've been super tired all freaking day. I guess it hasn't helped that I stayed up until 2 in the AM writing a stupid paper. Can I tell you just how much I hate World Civilizations I and don't get me started about Computer Literacy. UGH with a side of ACK!

So, all that aside, I DID have a good day. Play-date with some awesome mommy friends, lovely lunch with them afterwards, and then a workout with the Pussycat Dolls. Which was super fun BTW! (Totally recommend you picking up the DVD) A soccer practice with Little Miss, signed her up for gymnastics which she starts tomorrow, had dinner at Chick-Fil-A, browsed around Michael's, and now I'm in my PJ's, getting ready to curl up on the couch with my guy and read about more world civilizations and computers, whilst watching something on TV.

So long and Good Night BF's. Good Night!
