It's the weekend Bay Bee!

Hi BF's,

I'm typing this quickly before I head out on an adventure my husband has planned for all of us. We're apparently going to drive around Shreveport looking for a treasure. LOL I have my camera in hand and I will have lots of pictures upon return!

I just wanted to say happy Friday and find out what you all are up to for this holiday weekend, so do tell! ;-)

Okay, I'm getting the stank eye from the Mr. so I better go. Haha!

Wordless Wednesday and a Award!

This was taken right after I'd hung up the phone with my friend Danielle. I was beyond happy and I think that it shows here... I like that it highlighted our day at the Ren Fest since it was taken at the end of our day there. PS. I never take pictures with my short hair. This will most likely be the only one you will ever see... Mmmkay!

I got this award from my friend Jenn over at Peace Love Mommy and I'd like to take the time to thank her for it! She completely rocks and if you haven't had the chance to visit her blog now is as good a time as any. :-)

Here are the rules...
            1) Thank the person who gave you this award
2) Share 7 things about yourself.
 3) Pass the award along to 15 fabulous bloggers.
4) Contact the bloggers you've picked, and let them know about the award.

Okay... so 7 things about me?

1. I'm on the cusp of Aquarius and Pisces because of when my birthday falls.
2. I'm really fun to be around... at least in my head I am.
3. I love to read. A LOT
4. I hate exercise. See above picture. LOL
5. I'm allergic to cats, but I've always wanted one.
6. I've lived by the beach my whole life and I can't swim. LOL Seriously.
7. I've never had the chicken pox.

Now, I know I'm supposed to pick 15 bloggers, and I will. Just not right now. I'll do it tonight; I promise!

Twofer Tuesday

This is a little game I've been doing with my Facebook fanpage and I thought why not do it here so I can get to know you all a little better. :-)

Today's twofer is name 2 health and beauty products you can't go without. Here are mine...

First, I can not leave home without having my Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Lip Gloss! I pink puffy heart this stuff. It makes my lips smooth with out cracking them and I love the look of my lips after I put it on.
Courtesy of Hipster Chic

My next beauty must have is the Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Gel Brusher. I love how smooth my face is after using this and it's easy enough on my skin that I can use it both day and night. It feels like I've gotten a mini-facial every day and my skin has never been healthier! I think this product rocks and would probably cry if they took it off the market. :-/

Now BF's it's your turn! What health and beauty products do you use that you love?!

Weekend Recap...

This weekend was awesome with a capital A! Friday we had a down night, we just watch some movies and relaxed at home, it was a lot of fun.

Saturday we drove over to TX (which was quite an adventure in itself) and went to the Scarborough Renaissance Festival. We had an absolute blast! I think the kids had the most fun though. We watched a jousting segment that was really intense, a comedy show that had us rolling, and a guy play the glass harmonica. We ate a lot and drank some too. All in all a very good afternoon.

While at the festival I received a phone call that I completely wasn't expecting. It hit me so hard I started crying before I answered. It was my best friend Danielle. OMG! was my first thought. Please God no was my second, then I heard the sweetest sound ever! My friend was on the phone talking to me as if nothing was wrong with her! I was in shock. The world stop spinning for a moment and I was completely in awe. My friend was on the phone, talking, laughing, and tell me how much she loved and missed me. She wanted me to come see her, but I was in TX and she was in Shreveport. :-( I asked to visit her on Sunday and she said okay! More on that later...

Saturday night we met up with an friend from online that I've known about 5 years and we caught up with her for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory! Let me tell ya that driving in Dallas was crazy, it reminded us of being on the beltway in DC for a minute. When we arrived we were glad to be in park and I ready for a martini of any kind! I also was praying to God, Baby Jesus, and Tom Cruise that my children would behave. LOL, thankfully they did pretty good. They got crazy a few times but all in all hit it off with my friend's son and had an awesome time playing with him. I think we may have even arranged a marriage... Ha!

I didn't know what to expect meeting my up with my friend, but I was thrilled and thankful that we did. She is the absolute cutest thing in TX and I am so happy to call her friend. She is like the big sister I always wanted and in my world I've finally got her! We'll be going over to Dallas again in a couple of weeks to see her and the family this time. We're also going to watch my Tampa Bay Rays beat up on the Texas Rangers too, but I'll save that post for another time. LOL

After dinner, I passed out along with the kids and Mr. Sergeant drove back to Louisiana. I think about an hour into the drive I heard him say I was right and that we should have gotten a hotel... but I may have been dreaming. LOL Who knows... All that matters is we made it home in one piece; right or not.

Let's see... Hmmm. Oh okay. Sunday!

Sunday I rose with the sun... For some reason Babe Boy didn't want to sleep in, and I was okay with that. I got up made breakfast, caught up on blogs, and spent some serious and snuggly quality time with my boy. The rest of the family woke up a couple of hours later, then I got ready and headed to the hospital to see my beautiful friend.

I arrived at the hospital around 10:30 and I wasn't sure what I expected to see. I knew I wasn't going to cry, I promised myself that, and I knew crying wouldn't have done either of us any good. So I didn't. I went up to the floor she was on, asked a nurse for her room, found it and stood outside for a good 30 seconds before going in. As I opened the door; I looked to my right to see the most beautiful sight I'd seen in a while. My best friend sitting up with color in her cheeks and a big smile on her face, with her brown eyes shining. I was in heaven and my best friend was with me!

I instantly washed up and ran over to give her a big hug! I didn't want to let go, it didn't feel real! I was just so freaking happy. We laughed, talked, played games, and caught up for the next 6 hours. We had seriously lost track of time, but it was worth every second spent there. I was so happy. She was happy and healing! I couldn't have asked for a better Sunday, even her reaction when I surprised her with a necklace from the Ren Fest was perfect.

I left the hospital, I cried tears of joy, today she even got a little bit better. Thank you all for your prayers and positive thoughts for her. You guys rock!

Well, I went home after that and relaxed.

Today has been good, but I can hardly wait for Thursday! SEX AND THE CITY 2!!!!!  How were your weekends? You know I want to know! LOL

Happy Friday!!!!!!!!!!

Hi BF's!!
It's the weekend! Yay!!! We're heading down to New Orleans and I'm so freaking excited about it! I can't wait to go to Cafe DuMonde and all that jazz. We're meeting up with some friends we used to be stationed with and we get to meet their son for the first time! Hooray.

This trip is happening because I can't stay in this house another second and I'm completely bummed because I can't attend my friends wedding so this is a letsgetthehellouttaherenow trip.

Lil Miss is super excited about the N.O. because that is where Princess Tiana is from. I think it's cute that she's so into it, she's going to flip when we go to Disney this summer and she gets to see her in person! I'm stoked for that too. :-)

Well, I've got tons of stuff to do to get ready since this was just decided a few minutes ago, so bye BF's! I want you all to have a fabulous weekend!

Hi!

Whew! It's been a while hasn't it! I'm still around. I had to get myself out of the funk I was in and I did! Things are good and that is great.

Let's see, I got glad about staying in FL. We found a new place to live because we couldn't go back to our old house. Why you ask? Because it has Chinese Drywall that's why! Which is why I was having severe migraines and Lil Miss was in the doctor almost every other week with asthma problems. It's a long story and I don't want to get into it right now...

What I do want to know is how your weekends went and how your weeks are going?! I've been MIA and I need to hear what you guys have been up too! :-)

Nothing...

I've got nothing. The past week has been a complete rollercoaster of emotions and I'm ready to relax. I don't want this to be a down post so I'm going to just say Happy Friday. I hope you all have amazing weekends!

We're not going.

After all that worrying and anxiety, we find out last night that we aren't going. No move to Seattle, we're staying in FL. I am happy that I get to stay in FL, but I'm just disappointed at not being able to move. We were excited and we fell in love with the idea of going to a new city, a fabulous city like Seattle. :-(

I was really bummed last night, but I'm better today. We get to stay in Florida! Yay! :-) I just hope we don't go through anything like this ever again. :-/ It sucked.

Happy Wednesday

Movers Anxiety...

Hi BF's!

So, we're moving right. I know I've mentioned this. I am excited, but I'm freaking out at the same time... We are literally driving from one corner of the US, to the other with 2 kids and a dog. We really don't know much of the area except for what we've been finding on the internet. Lil Miss starts Kindergarten this year and I want her to go to a good school, but where are they? I've been looking on greatschools.com but if we don't know where we are going to live how can that help? Speaking of where to live... Where are we going to live? What areas are good, what areas are bad? Which area has the shortest commute time, etc.

In our past moves I didn't face these challenges as Lil Miss wasn't school age. We could pretty much live where we wanted since she went to daycare on base. Now she's school age and I am up to my ears with questions.

We go back to Florida and get things squared away there, then head to Seattle a couple of months later. It's strange thinking of how far we're going to be away from family when we've been close for so long, but we knew it was coming sooner or later.

I guess you could call this me emptying my mind right here. I've been thinking so much that I haven't been able to sleep. I'm also wondering where we should live in FL.... should we try to stay in TLF or find a cheap apt somewhere... If we do go the apartment route, should it be close to base or close to my MIL? See, questions, questions.

I know everything will work itself out, but for right now I'm just a little anxious, and a little bit in panic mode, especially since we don't have a lot of time to figure all this stuff out.

How many times have you moved and experienced something similar? I'd like to know some tips and tricks of the trade pretty please!

Happy Mother's Day!

To My Mom, even though we didn't have the best relationship when I was younger, we have a relationship now and for that I'm thankful. I love my mom very much and I'm glad that she is a part of my life.

I am thankful to be a mother. I am thankful for the two children that I have been blessed with. They are both so different and yet alike and I love every moment that I get to spend with them. As I celebrate this Mother's Day I remember all the little things that I've experienced with my children that have shaped my life into something much more than what even I had expected. I am looking forward to sharing more Mother's Days and everydays with my children.

To all of my moms out there; Happy Mother's Day! May your day be filled with family, laughter, and love.

In a vulnerable place.

Hi BF's,

Mrs. Sergeant here and I have to say this weekend has began full of emotions. While here in Shreveport I befriended a group of amazing women. Each lady is quirky, yet amazing in her own right. I have a woman who stuck to me and has been near and dear to my heart.

Her name is Danielle Beaubouef. She is 25. She has a beautiful son named London and a uber amazing husband named Brian. She truly is an angel here on earth and from the moment we exchanged hello's I knew I would love her. However besides loving her, she has completely impacted my life in ways unimaginable.

Danielle is in a fight for her life. She has cancer, and at 25 a young mom, with a  young child, fighting for her life. Literally.

I don't know if anyone expected the chemo to take the toll it has on her poor fragile body, but it has. :-( I'm in pain, my good friend is hurting and all I want to do is make her feel better and take her pain away. I feel completely helpless. She is absolutely adorable, and probably one of the nicest, most sweetest human beings I know and it hurts me to my very core to see her going through such pain.

Please pray for my friend. She needs every prayer right now she can get. Please! Can you imagine not spending mother's day with your child. This is her reality. I don't care what you believe in, just send positive vibes, and definitely prayers up for my friend. Myself and her family want her to beat this more than anything. I can't imagine life without my Danielle and that's saying alot. As a military wife I don't get attached to anything, but Dani broke down all my walls. I love her so much. :-( My friend is hurting, I'm so sorry to be this way.

Please pray for my friend, and if you're up to it donate to her cause, I don't expect my BF's to do anything but pray or whatever you do. It would be extra awesome if you all donated to the her care. No obligation AT ALL. Promise me prayers are enough.
Here is her site, please visit, just to leave encouragement. People read that to her and she loves hearing positive encouragement. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/daniellebeaubouef

Mil Spouse Appreciation Day!

Almost 5 years ago I became an Air Force wife and I had no idea what to expect. That first year of being a Mil Spouse was the most trying, awesome, crazy, fun, year of all.

I was a new wife, learning to live a life where I had to support my man when I didn't even understand half of the things going on. I didn't have any military wife friends at the time so I was figuring it out alone.

Things started to become easier and I began learning and remembering all the different acroynms, I became acquainted with his favorite dry cleaner, his barber, and his friends from his squadron. I made military spouse friends, both men and women who are some of the most amazing people I know and for that I'm thankful.

I learned that the Air Force is not only my husband's employer, but our extended family as well. I know that no matter where we go it is always home, and there will be a spouse that is willing to be a friend. :-)

So this is to you all my Mil Spouses! Keep on rocking and being the awesome support behind our troops! May God Bless You All!

•Link-up your blog post for "It's a Social Parade" that you made on your blog.

3 Day Recap and a Vlog? Maybe...

So, I know I've mentioned once or twice that my MIL was in town lol, but in order to stay true to why I blog I must document her visit here to the state of LA. Here goes...

Friday - Her plane touched down at 10 PM and she was in my door by 10:20. She and Mr. Sergeant stopped by Taco Bell to pick up fourth meal. We ate, talked, and planned our weekend. Goodtimes!

Saturday - That morning Lil Miss had a soccer game and being her superstar self she showed off for her Yaya and scored a whopping 3 goals! I have to say we all were impressed and that is her best soccer appearence to date. After soccer we went and had ice cream at a cool little shop called KaleidoScoops which was delicious! If you have one near you I suggest you stop in and try the flavor called trash can! Yum! Then we brought the kids home and gave them naps as I preparared us lunch. Shredded Chicken Salad w/Sherry Dressing and Creamed Broccoli Leak Soup on the side; both were delish.

After lunch the Mr. and I went out and got pedicures and spent some alone time together. We came home and attempted to go out to dinner for the Mr.'s birthday. Keyword here is attempted. Something happened... I can't tell you what. I spazzed out and walked out of the restaurant, then somewhere in there was a huge fight. It was awful and I completely over-reacted and I will own that. I got dropped off at home, got dressed up and went out all by myself. Mature. I know. A couple of drinks later I end up at The Eldorado in Club Allure and calling Mr. Sergeant. He shows up looking hot as ever and we make up, dance, and have a great time. Sunday morning I promptly apologized to my MIL for acting like a complete fool and ruining dinner. She forgives and says she did the same thing when she was younger. No worries. I heart her.

Sunday - We got up and had a lovely breakfast, hung out around the house and eventually got up the energy to go to the park. The kids played and we got to see a muskrat hanging out by the edge of the water. He even let us get close enough to take pictures. We left the part to go have lunch at The Southfield Grill. A local favorite and mine too. I swear they make the best BLT's and fried catfish this side of the Mississippi! We came home and all took naps, then I went grocery shopping for the super awesome dinner I made that night. Main course Halibut w/ Chive Butter :-) Spinach Salad w/Strawberries & Mandarin Oranges, Baked Brie w/Fig Preserves and Fresh Strawberries dipped in warm Nutella.  Sunday night was spent watching movies and playing board games. We had a blasty blast!

Monday - MIL's last full day in the LA. We had BLT's for breakfast and then ran some errands. We ended up at the Louisiana Boardwalk for lunch. We ate at Which Wich. Best sandwiches EVER! Came home to give the kids naps. Lil Miss needed to rest up for her ballet debut. Speaking of, we never told MIL about the performance. Not once all weekend or before she came did we mention it. She was so surprised it brought tears to her eyes. After that, we then tried dinner for a second time. It was a success. We at at Shogun of Japan and had an awesome chef that had just moved here from Florida. I asked why and MIL asked what tribe was he from. He was from Guam. LOL

After dinner we came home, ate ice cream, and played more board games. MIL at one point said she had been Godsmacked, when she really meant gobsmacked... We laughed and Mr. Sergeant had to explain the right term to use and the definition. I'll spare you the details but it was hiliarious.

This morning at 5 AM she left. I wish I could have left with her. I miss her already!

So, that in was her visit in a nutshell. Fun, drama, laughter, and a bit o'craziness all mixed in one. If you made it through all that then thank you and you're awesome.

If you're stopping by from anywhere in the Shreveport area I highly suggest you think about visiting the places I posted. So very worth it!

And now on to my Vlog. I've never done one of these so I was super nervous. Please forgive all the hand gestures and high-pitchedness of my voice. LOL I promise the next one won't be so bad. :-)

Whew!

The last three days were crazy and I'm exhausted! Playing hostess can be a tiring feat, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

This afternoon is going to be equally crazy and I hope to return this evening with a full recap of the past three days of events. :-) There are some super funny things that I'm going to share. I'm LOL'ing right now just thinking about them.

I'm nice enough though.... To leave you with these. Lil Miss the ballerina. See ya later!

Meetup Monday!

Well BF's; due to the MIL being here I have decided that I won't be participating in Menu Plan Monday, instead while I have a minute I'll be doing Meetup Monday that is hosted by a wonderful new blogger I met over at Just Another Manic Momday.

So stop by her blog, say hi, and link up to her Meetup Monday! :-)

I have so much to post and pictures from the recital that Lil Miss will be participating in tonight! :-) Yay!

Award Time!!! :-)

Lookie here y'all! I got an award from my good friend and blogger Nolie @ Nolie's Place!

Now what I get to do is share 10 random things about me and then pass the award on to 10 other bloggers.

Okay, here goes.

1. I'm an avid reader. Blogs, books, magazines, words anywhere. I love it.

2. I am a list maker. I make to-do lists every night and then go over them again in the morning to make sure I want and need to do everything on that list.

3. I hate being late... although I almost always am.

4. I will never ever not be able to live near water. Lake, River, Beach, Pond... I have to have access to water. I think it's from being born and raised in Florida. I have pretty much lived near a beach my whole life. Terrible way to grow up... I know.

5. I love my MIL. I know it's a rarity, but I really do love her. :-)

6. I think Dooce.com is the Oprah of the blog world. LOL

7. I could eat sushi every single day and not tire of it.

8. I am impatient. Waiting is definitely no fun... as per here.

9. I collect cookbooks and have used everyone that I own at least once.

10. I run a 5K on May 27th and I'm extremely nervous about it.

How random is this list. LOL

I know it says to pick 10 other bloggers to pass it on to, but yet again I can't just pick 10 of you. My way is going to be to pass it on to whoever would like to do it! :-)

MilSpouse Blog Hop

While I do realize it's like 3:50 in the morning; I promise I am not a crazy person. I have been up studying and reading blogs... actually reading blogs moreso than studying, but I digress...

I saw a few of my Military BF's were posting about a blog hop, so I did some detective work and found the source here @ a fabulous blog called Riding the Roller Coaster! Thanks for hosting this btw. :-)

My about me pretty much sums up things, but I'll play fair and post an introduction. :-)

I'm Mrs. Sergeant, Air Force wife to Mr. Sergeant, mom to Lil Miss, Babe Boy, and our pup Jameson. Lover of all things music, sports, and shoes. Not neccesarily in that order. The family and I currently spending some time in Louisiana, but we are stationed in my home-state of Florida. We should find out where we are going to be heading next by Wednesday of next week and hopefully it's somewhere good.

This blog is pretty random, as are my musings. I talk about military wifedom, mommyness, and life in general. There are good things, bad things, happy and sad things, but most important of all the real things. I really dislike talking about myself, but rather the situations I find myself in or things that have happened. If that even makes sense. Ha! I'm tired y'all!

I should go get an hour of shut eye and rethink this post later in the AM. If you made it through that ramble;  bless you! Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you around again!
