Purex® Complete Crystals Softener Review & Giveaway!

Hey BF's!

Guess what?! I've been chosen as a Purex® Insider and guess what that means!
I get to try out all kind of cool stuff from Purex® before it hits the stores and share my experiences with you! Awesome right? I thought so too.

A couple of days ago I got this super secret squirrel package in the mail instructing me not to tell you all about this super new, super neat, and super versatile product.

Can you imagine how hard that was? I really wanted to post about it stat, but because of the secret handshake and Yaya Sisterhood blood promise I'd made,  I couldn't tell ya like I wanted to.
Seriously, I really did want to. :0/ Just sayin.

So what did I do with all that idle time on my hands?
Why laundry of course and lots of it!
I got busy using my Purex® Complete Crystals Softener and here is what I found...

When I opened the package I found a little bottle that reminded me of bath salts, but I wouldn't recommend using them as such. ;-)

So, how do you use them? You just throw some in at the start of the wash; placing them directly in the washer and not in the space reserved softeners.

I found that they smell really good, but can be really strong. Really. Strong. My dear Mr. Sergeant thought that I painted the walls with fragrance; lol... but alas, I did not.
Honestly, I think I just used too much. With that said, I do love how they smell though.
I even used put some in the bottom of our big garbage bin in the garage and now my garage smells absolutely lovely. :O) I may spend more time out there! Keyword here is may, but I digress.

What I really like about the product is this:

While I had my doubts and I was worried about those little crystals not dissolving 100%  they did and that fear was unfounded. I was also worried that the smell would over-power my clothes, towels, and sheets. It didn't. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the smell was there, but not overpowering. It worked like it said it would and I am pleased.
I will definitely be using this product for a long time and can't wait to share more Purex® secret squirrel stuff with you again soon!

So, I liked this product so much that I want to share it with you!
How about some coupons?

Okay... So here's the deal BF's!
I want to hear about a laundry mishap that has happened to you or someone you know.
Also if you tweet about this review and/or blog about this giveaway, follow my blog, twitter & facebook pages, follow @Purex on twitter and like their facebook page HERE. Then leave me a comment saying you did so. You'll be entered into this awesome giveaway!
That's 8 chances to be entered... Craziness! :-)

3 lucky winners will receive coupons to try out this nifty product for themselves!
 Cool? Alright!

This giveaway will end on 1.2.11 at midnight!

Good Luck

PS. My laundry mishap is this... I put some red items in with Mr. Sergeant's very expensive all white button up shirts, that weren't so white anymore when I got done with them. Oops. To this day he will not let me touch any of his white items. LOL I guess you can say that is a good & bad thing all at once. ;-P

The Year 2010

This year 2010 has been interesting one.

I have grown as a person, a wife, a mother. I’ve made friends and lost some. I’ve worked hard and been laid off. I’ve taken breaks from school and now I’m back at it. I’ve debated not being a military wife at all and I still am. I’ve wanted to run away and never look back, but I am still here.
I have felt defeated, beat down, worn out, and I’m still standing.

This year has been a year of downs and outs, but I’m up. I am ending this year victorious. I didn’t quit, I didn’t give in, and I didn't surrender.

I can only hope that next year is as good and bad as this one, for from it I’ve strengthen my character and I am still coming into my own.

How was your year?

Have A Very Merry Christmas!

Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away. May your holiday season and upcoming year be full of wonderful & amazing moments.

From our family to yours;
Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

 With Love,
The Sergeant Family

The Week of The Dentist

Hi BF’s!
This girl had a dentist appointment on Tuesday in which I had to have a root canal  while awake no less…
I don’t know how long you’ve been following the blog or if you’re new here, but I’d like to reiterate how much I dislike the dentist.  I mean have to take valium before going in for just a simple cleaning dislike.

Anyway, after 2 valium and a 20 minute wait before I could bring myself to go into the back I realized how awesome of an oral surgeon I had been referred to.  Of course it was probably due to the valium, but nonetheless he pretty much rocked, very gentle and really fast. He knew I was not cool with the whole dentist thing and went out of his way to help make me a little more comfortable. He even sat with me in the lobby and we talked until I got the nerve to go back.

His assistants’ however notsomuch. The moment I told them I was nervous I could tell how super annoyed they got with me. I understand them being frustrated and whatnot as I know they get that scenario a lot more than I can even begin to fathom; I probably would have too, but you don't have to take it out on the patient and make them feel like an idiot for being scared. :-(  It made me uncomfortable to have them back there and to make matters even worse was that they were laughing at me, blatantly laughing at me. I had my headphones on and no music for a second and they didn't know I could hear them, but still don't assume... I normally would have said something to the Dr. but under the circumstances I just wanted to get the hell out of there and never come back. Yeah, so anyway, that was that...

Monday was The Athlete’s first ever dentist visit and I was determined for him not to have my fear so I went in with full confidence and he rocked it. Our regular dentist is completely awesome; plus he graduated from UF, so I guess that makes me a bit partial.  He was super impressed by how he just sat there opened his mouth without any problems whatsoever. I had to say I was pretty impressed myself after hearing the horror story from my SIL about how her 3 year old reacted at her first dentist visit. :-/ I’m going to miss this dentist when we leave. L

So that’s what are week has started out like, I’m glad there are no more dentist visits until I get my crown started next week with you guessed it  more valium. :-/
Hope you’re having a fabulous week and all ready for the Christmas Weekend!!

PS. I will announce the winners of my latest giveaway via Twitter! :-)

Letters to Santa Sergeant Kids Edition

From The Artist~

Dear Santa,

Thank you for coming from the North Pole to bring me my elf and presents. I really appreciate that and I hope your trip is nice. This year for Christmas I would like:
Barbie, Pink Umbrella, and a nutcracker like Yia Yia's. Thank you Santa. I hope you enjoy the cookies we will leave out for you. (She is pretty good with words; I wrote this verbatim.)

From My Beau~

Dear Santa,

I would like a Monster Truck, Cars, and a Motorcycle. I have been a good boy. Thank you.

After reading those letters I was like wow...  That's it? That's all they want... I was really like wow with The Artist's list... I thought for sure it would be a mile long, but it goes to show me that life can still be simple these days and you don't need all that glitters to be happy.

Today I realized more than ever that my children help keep me grounded and made me realize what Christmas is truly about again. For that I'm thankful and blessed.

Chrismas Menu Where are you hiding?

Okay BF's...

I'm having a situation... I am losing it here... I usually have a menu planned by mid-December, but alas here it is almost Christmas and no menu.

I really want to make this Christmas special and not cook the traditional stuff, I'd like to switch it up a bit, but I'm drawing a blank here...

What are you cooking for Christmas?

This lady is taking suggestions! :-)

MilSpouse Friday Fill-in & A giveaway!!!

1. What is the best gift you have ever received or given?
The best gift I've given was surprising my sibs with $50 gift Visa giftcards after I said that I wasn't going to be able to get gifts at all that year. They totally weren't expecting anything and seeing them so happy made my day.

2. Do you celebrate holidays differently when your loved one is deployed/gone or do you keep tradition?
We definitely have been blessed in this regard. (knocking on wood) Mr. Sergeant has never been deployed or gone during the holiday's but should he ever be I would want to keep things as traditional as possible for the kids.
3. If you celebrate Christmas, do you put an angel, star or something else on the top of your tree?
We have different toppers every year, as our Christmas colors change. This year they are the traditional red & green. Our topper is a white snowflake with glittering red, green & gold balls on it. It's special this year because the kids picked it out. So it just may be making an appearance next year too!

4. What are your three favorite websites?

5. On your man do you prefer… boxers, briefs or boxer briefs? Or commando? (yeah, I’m starting to get desperate for questions!)?
Boxer Briefs for sure! :-)

That was a fun Fill-In and I can't wait to do another one in the upcoming year! :-)

Winner Announcement & Getting Happy!

Okay... so in another post I stressed how unhappy I was with this move... Yep. I was pretty un-stoked as you could get, but as time has moved on and I have done research this girl is now pretty excited... Well, within reason.  I have hooked up with some fellow wives there and they are making me feel more comfortable about this move oh and Mr. Sergeant promised me I could get any car I wanted. (SCORE) Within reason of course... I told him a 4-Door Maserati but he wasn't having any of that nonsense... A girl can dream right... LOL but I digress.

On to the really cool and exciting part of this post! The announcement of my Dinner & a Movie giveaway!!! I took a picture of the Random.org site with my phone but my dear old Droid won't let me post to blogger... :-( So, this post is without pic unfortunately.

Okay... Drumroll Please! The winner of the giveaway is:

Dear Professor F.

Dear Professor F....

Hi there. I'm in your class right now and while I like you as a Professor, I think you are funny and your replies to some of the posts in class are downright hilarious and definitely full of wit. Characteristics that I like in people... I do have to say though that the said class you teach sucks hard core. Well... that was a bit harsh... I think I may be the problem and here's why...

Let me tell you a little bit about me...

I was born in the 80's, grew up with technology such as video games, cable TV, computers, and the Internet. I know what MS Word, Excel, & PowerPoint are and how to use them. It was sorta kinda mandatory in high school to learn; plus like most people in the world I have had a job that has required me to use them as well. With that said I know you don't write the textbooks, but I was just wondering if it could be at all possible to skip the obvious and get on with some learning?

Speaking of learning, I'll let you in on a little secret. I am a uber-procrastinator, so if you give me 561649 assignments to complete in one week I will wait until the very last possible minute to do them. Case in point, right now I should be doing homework, yet I'm writing you a letter. How's that for an example?

In closing I just want to say let's get on with the program. If a person hasn't used a computer in their life ever before then I'm almost certain online college courses aren't for them. I personally feel they would benefit more from a hands on session at a brick & mortar college, then try for online courses at a later date. Don't you agree Professor F.?

Anyway, hope I get my homework in to you on time... especially that really awful 10-pg research paper I have to write in the next 2 weeks. (just sayin)

She's awesome and I can't sing her praises enough!

My Sweet Girl's 6th Birthday

To My Artist;

Mommy loves you so freaking much. You're 6 now and I find that absolutely crazy. It seems like just yesterday I was on bed-rest because you my dear wanted to come out way to early. You were ready for the world from day one.

Born a whooping 2lbs 3.4oz; neither your father and I knew what to expect. We were in shock at how small you were, in awe of how strong you were, and amazed that you were ours.

In 6 years I've learned more about life and being present all because of you. You make my days more interesting and definitely more fun.

As we are embarking on a new journey in a new country I am looking forward to learning so much more about and with you! Thank you so much for being my daughter, for that I am blessed beyond measure.

Where is the world is Mrs.Sergeant?

An island... That's where I'm going. I. Am. Not. Thrilled. Nor. Happy.
In fact I am absolutely terrified. I keep hearing good things and that fine and all but I am still scared. This is all unknown, this is the middle east. That scares me...

I'm going to miss my family. I'm going to miss my friends. I'm going to miss my awesome homestate of FL most of all. Sure there are beaches on an island, but they aren't my beaches.

I'm trying to be open-minded about this, but do you see how close we are to Saudi? Seriously. I know you my fabulous BF's are going to help me get over this shell-shockedness of the news and get happy. There has got to be some pros right! Right! Feel free to leave me comments with those because all I got are cons... For real.

Winner Winner!

Goodnight, sleep well, and thank  you to everyone who entered!!!!

Orders of Doom. LOL

After a full day of house hunting yesterday, Mr. Sergeant tells me all about the orders he received. :-/ I can't say that after finding out where we were going I was overly thrilled... Actually I cried for a good hour. Seriously. I was terrified. :-( I'm not going to say where we're going just yet, but I will say soon. Maybe.

Today, I went on base to his shop and talked to some people who had been there and now I can honestly say I'm excited... still a bit scared, but that's normal with the unknown. Wish us luck we leave in 3 months. Awesome right. LOL

PS. My giveaway ends tonight and you should sign up! :-)
