Hey BF's.

a night out

in Miami.

In the Art District.

We had an absolute blast

& 

Can't wait to visit again. 

We stopped at this fantastic little restaurant 

after a round of art show visits. 

What's funny is that the manager swore to us 

the kitchen was

CLOSED

:-(

However, being the super awesome guy he is

Mr. Sergeant

convinced 

one of the waiter to bring us 

some 

Tabouli & Pita Bread

And HE DID!

How completely awesome was that?!

Best Tabouli I'd ever eaten in my life.

Anyway, so much for wordless eh?

1. I am a Christian! 

2. I hate frogs. yuck

3. I am super shy. (seriously)

4. I am brutally honest. Almost to a fault.

5. Living in New Country scares me & excites me at the same time.

6. I was a huge grungie in middle school. 

(Flannel & Dickies were my uniform).

7. Mr. Sergeant and I were married on July 7th.

8. I couldn't swim until I was 21.

9. This girl was born & raised in Panama City, FL.

10. I have a love/hate relationship with being a military spouse.

11. My favorite food is Sushi

12. I love the Florida Gators

13. I have always been jealous of those with the ability to create art. (sculpt, draw, photog) 

(Its such an amazing talent to me)

14. Being a wife and a mother has been the best thing to happen to me.

15. I lost my best friend to my ex-boyfriend's new girlfriend a month ago and I still hurt.

16. My husband and I eloped in Savannah, GA. (best day ever)

17. I am named after my dad's mom, The Artist is named after my mom's mom.

18. My birthday is Feb 18th. 

19. I want to become a certified diver, but I'm severely afraid of drowning. 

20. Someone being mean to an elderly person or a child makes me see red. 

21. I love blogging. It has been so amazing and I've met so many wonderful people through it.

22. I want to write a screenplay.

23. I have always secretly wanted to become a writer. The urge started in 4th grade.

24. I almost became an Officer in the USAF. (I kinda still want to.)

25. I am the middle child out of 5.

I write. That's what this blog is for. Getting it out here and having yall support me helps when this life gets to be too tough or too much. For that I am grateful.

Breathe. Take life day by day, let people help you and be there for you. You're going to feel as if your whole world is crumbling down sometimes and having a support group of friends & family will be an invaluable resource.  I have more, but I have to stop typing now... I still have a migraine. Actually. I think I'll just do a post on this. Great Question!!!

Migraines Really Suck.

Sometimes you just need a moment...

It’s no secret that the past week of my life

has been full of frustrating moments,

major melt-downs, and moments of complete insanity.

Moving to a new country

is not the easiest thing in

this world to do.

At least it hasn't been for me...

In the midst of being a

 perfect

wife, mom, sister, daughter, friend;

Do you find that you sometimes go AWOL?
I do...

That has happened several times

to me this past week

&

Well, a few times before…

I can attest to putting other things ahead of me so much that sometimes

I have to take a cool-it moment.

These “Time-Outs” don’t have to last long.

They range from 5 minutes alone in total quietness

to

a

full on day at the spa

getting pampered and recharged.

In the past week none of those moments have been available to me…

So what does a good MilSpouse do?

I have learned to improvise and adapt.

 I have begun to use the 30-second rule.

If I feel myself losing my self-control

And/or sanity in any given moment

I remove myself from the situation

(if applicable)

then

I count backwards from 30.

Most of the time

I’m able to get back to me

&

get on track again.

There are times that I still lose my cool,

I’m not perfect and neither is that method.

But it’s what I got so far…

I’m learning as I go.

I think the progress is in realizing

that you aren’t

Superwoman.

That everyone deserves

A break

A break-down.

And.

A break-through.

I'm not going to pretend...

In this moment

, I will accept the fact that I am 

thoroughly

homesick.

I will not pretend to like this place.

I will not pretend to be happy.

I will not pretend.

In this moment

I will cry.

I will hurt.

I will question what I'm doing.

And why I'm doing it.

I will not be the one to keep it together.

I'm human and I'm allowed to feel. 

I know that this will pass

&

I will feel better.

But for right now...

In this moment

I am not the strong one

I will be vulnerable.

I will wallow in my misery.

I will get over it

& 

I will be okay.

Just not right now.

I definitely have a case of it. 

I'm in the worst of moods.

I miss America.

I want to come home.

I don't like this place. 

I'm not a fan.

Please pray that this gets better.

I'm not a happy camper and it's really showing.

This is coming from someone who is always happy.

I'm trying to keep an open mind.

I'm going to keep trying.

But I'm being honest
